The Family Advocacy Program at DSCC is a DOD program dedicated to domestic violence prevention, spousal and child abuse prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment. The program at DSCC provides a variety of services to DSCC, DFAS, tenant organizations, active duty and reserve military and their families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life. This mission is accomplished through a variety of groups, seminars, workshops, counseling and intervention services to include:
- Spousal and child abuse awareness
- Parenting
- Domestic Violence
- Elder care
- Depression
- Grief/Loss
- Couples Communication Skills
- Stress Management
- Sexual Assault Awareness
- Deployment Assistance for Military and Civilians
The Family Advocacy Program is also responsible for the implementation of the DOD mandated “Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Program” at DSCC. DSCC has a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the “Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio,” Ohio Health, (SARNCO), with providing prevention, education, victim advocacy, counseling and treatment to active duty and reserve military members and their families.
The Family Advocacy Program Manager has a Master’s Degree in Social Work as well as being a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in the State of Ohio. All services are free and confidential.
